Coastal Musing
Coastal Musing is a quiet celebration of resilience in the natural world. This work honours the native plants that endure salt, wind, and shifting sands—plants that stand tall and strong despite the elements. Through delicate strokes in an earthy palette I hope to express this though in paint.
This piece reflects a deep connection to place and a reverence for the strength found in stillness. Coastal Musing invites viewers to pause and consider the beauty in what is often overlooked—the plants that persist, thrive, and bloom in the harshest of conditions. For me, these enduring botanicals are more than muse; they are quiet teachers of grace, adaptation, and belonging.
So often people walk along the coast in awe of the vast ocean, the whales, the birds and the feeling of salt on their skin. I encourage you to really look at the shapes of the trees on these pathways, the strength it requires for them to stay upright in unwavering coastal wind.
Look a little closer, imagine the endurance, feel a little more.
